This is what I admire about Joe Biden — his ability to speak about his own feelings and convey raw emotion in a very real way. I remember him doing a similar thing during the hearings about torture. UPDATE: Here’s an unedited video of Biden.

March 19th was the nine year anniversary of the invasion of Iraq. If you are one of those people who feels disappointed in Obama because of some vague feeling that he hasn’t changed things enough, I just want to remind you of how much at least one thing has changed from just nine years ago: […]
© Tom Tomorrow Yes, I understand that Obama is probably mainly doing this because he is already being attacked as weak on defense (I guess because he hasn’t started any stupid wars). But I still don’t like it.

© Jack Ohman I guess it could be worse — they could be just making shit up to justify going to war, like we did in 2003.
© Stuart Carlson I don’t get it. With Bush’s two wars winding down, of course it makes sense to start cutting back on military spending. Even with Obama’s proposed cuts, we would still spend more on our military than any other country in the world. In fact, we would still be spending as much as […]

Glenn Greenwald published an outstanding rebuke of our apparent policy of endless war Nov 23rd in Salon. I think that a certain Nobel Peace Prize winner would benefit from reading more Greenwald: Anonymous U.S. officials this morning are announcing in The Washington Post that they have effectively defeated what they call “the organization that brought […]

I know I’ve said it before, but Jon Stewart is brilliant. And he’s on a roll with this one, pointing out the utter hypocrisy of the chicken hawks.

© Henry Payne So, if the revolution in Libya turns out well, do you think any Republicans will give Obama any credit at all for how he handled it?

© Matt Wuerker So when will we learn to not get into any more wars? Libya I can almost understand, but we never should have taken on either Iraq or Afghanistan.
