Speaking of ISIS, according to Congressman Ted Poe (R-TX), the Obama administration is “more aggressive toward Americans, Republicans, conservatives, Christians” than toward ISIS. First, how many bombing runs has Obama made against ISIS? Around a thousand or so? How many bombing runs has Obama made against Republicans, conservatives, or Christians? Second, how many terrorist attacks […]
So, could you believe that the Boston Terrorist Bombing was possibly a false flag operation?

The Charlie Hebdo killing was a tragedy, but it was also full of irony and was a stunning source of satire. In honor of that, I give Tom Tomorrow the last word. Over and Out: © Tom Tomorrow

© Ted Rall The weekly circulation of Charlie Hebdo is normally around 60,000. But in the aftermath of the death of 17 people, sales have topped 5 million copies. I’m not really sure what to say about that, but you gotta admit it is ironic.
© Tom Tomorrow The Nib has a special series of responses to the Charlie Hebdo massacre from other cartoonists. This includes a particularly powerful piece from a Muslim cartoonist. But all of them are short and well worth a read.

“This is really hard to do but I’d like to change the tone now and briefly mention today’s terrible tragedy in France. Twelve people were killed because a satirical newspaper made jokes that some group found offensive. All of us are accustomed to bad news from around the world. But this story hits home for […]

The only reasonable response to the massacre of 12 people at the satirical French publication Charlie Hebdo is condemnation. It is never acceptable to respond to freedom of speech with violence and terror. Having said that, however, there is quite a bit of irony around this event, and I would be remiss in my duties […]

An article in VOX makes the case that the TSA should be abolished. Their point? There is no evidence that the TSA makes us any safer. None. And there is plenty of evidence that the time and money we spend on security theater damages our country far more than terrorism could ever hope to do. […]

© Tom Tomorrow I think Osama bin Laden made a (literally) fatal mistake. I mean, he was rich. He should have bought up a bunch of American corporations (including of course some media companies). After all, look at what big corporations have done to our country (and we are only looking at recent events): yes, […]
© Tom Tomorrow You know, I don’t blame Obama for all of this. After all, the Patriot Act was enacted before he was even elected, and anyone who voted against it was practically branded a traitor. We are paying dearly for our idiotic knee-jerk fear-ridden reaction to 9/11. But Obama sure seems to be doing […]
World War II and especially the following Cold War saw a dramatic rise in the popularity of comic book heroes like Superman, Batman, Captain America and dozens of others. It was a time of tension and uncertainty, so it was comforting to have heroes who were on our side, even looking out for us, and […]
© Adam Zyglis Is the cure worse than the disease? Wake up! At one point we Americans were demanding that the government protect us from those big bad terrorists. As a result, we got torture, Guantanamo, two wars, body searches at airports, and a surveillance state to rival those of the most oppressive dictatorships in […]

© John Jonik The New York Times has published a scathing editorial titled “The Criminal N.S.A.”, claiming that the spying being done on Americans by the Obama administration and the N.S.A. has gone far beyond even the overly broad surveillance authority granted by the Patriot Act and the FISA Amendments Act of 2008. What has […]
© Matt Wuerker What’s ironic about this is that I don’t think Republicans care if their accusations against Obama are contradictory. They just keep throwing shit until something sticks. Also ironic is that even though some of the recent scandals have stuck a bit (and the NSA scandal is even getting strong support from the […]
