Does anyone really think that releasing photos of Osama bin Laden will convince any of these idiots? This is why you don’t negotiate with terrorists.

I don’t need to see pictures of him in death, but how about a single frame from a Navy Seal helmut camera showing a very alive, yet very terrified, ObL. I would rather see the terror in his eyes than a hole in his head.
I can’t believe that they seriously even considered showing the photos. I suspect that was a ruse of some kind.
Speaking of which, isn’t it odd how the release of the birth certificate was just prior to the military action? I thought that was some misdirection, too.

IMO nothing good can come from releasing the photos on the internet. We are appalled when pictures of our troops or civilians being beheaded or dismembered are released. UBL was an enemy combatant, his killing justified, no need to put our Soldiers or civilians at any greater risk. Remember, the Taliban still hold a US Soldier prisoner of war. After the wars have ended and the event declassified, perhaps it can be published in some history book or PBS documentary, but not now. The proof to the world he is dead is his silence.
I think it’s ironic that his death was confirmed by Al Qaeda. Now we know who the ‘birthers’ are truly aligned with!
@RK – I thought the release of the birth certificate was done at a time when it set-up Obama’s jokes at the press club dinner. Boy, was I way off.
PatriotSgt is far from the first to point out that if bin Laden wasn’t dead, he’d be more than happy to let us know. If he’s still alive, I’m sure there will be a video tape soon. And regardless of what else anyone may think of them our administration is smart enough to know the damage that would do to them in the long term. I can’t see how they would possibly be willing to make a claim like this if they weren’t absolutely certain it were true.
Any attempt to link the “timing” on the release of Obama’s (unnecessary) long form birth certificate and the operaitn that took out Bin Laden goes beyond paranoid conspiracy theory. It’s much closer to certifiable insanity.
One note for everyone that wants to bomb Pakistan for “not knowing Osama was there” – we had CIA operatives across the street for months, dedicated satellites, and dozens of intelligence technologies and methods that the Pakistani’s don’t have, and WE were only about 60% positive he was there. So while there is no real doubt there are Al Queda sympathizers in Pakistan’s military and intelligence services, and it’s almost certain someone knew he was there, let’s not rush to judgement on the level of collusion. Let’s focus on a job well done by our SEAL’s and the addition of one nail in the coffin (no pun intended) of Al Queda.
I’m vaguely remembering something from when Obama released that birth certificate. He made some joke about how, if it was a national security announcement, that he wouldn’t be able to get the networks to break in. I remember him specifically saying “national security”.
At that point, he had, I think, given the “go” on the bin Laden operation.
If I’m remembering things correctly, then, I think the President may have just trolled us. đŸ˜‰
Something that we — or at least the various news networks — richly deserved.
