Give him enough rope?

Apparently Beck was too crazy for even Fox News. Or maybe they weren’t paying him enough.

A few tweets:

Richard Roeper: “Glenn Beck to leave Fox News. Announcement causes immediate, drastic fall in stock price of chalkboards, Hitler graphics and bottled crazy.”

Roger Ebert: “Fox drops Glenn Beck. One small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.”

UPDATE: Jon Stewart reacts to the news, by doing his amazing Glenn Beck imitation:

Jon was absolutely brilliant, and I am only sorry that he will have fewer video clips to make fun of Glenn in the future 🙂

Jason, I wouldn’t worry too much. People like Glenn Beck rarely disappear. He’ll continue being a source of hilarity somehow.

  4. I have never understood the approval Beck receives. I assume that the people I thought liked him, can’t be the ones that like him.

He seems to appeal to fairly literal, immature minds: highly emotional language promoting simplistic, jingoistic positions.

But then he cries on TV.

So why, oh why, isn’t his audience laughing at him as a crybaby?

Because that’s exactly how he acts. 😉

At least one press release I’ve come across indicated that Beck’s company and Fox may be doing specials in the future. Oh, and he still has his radio show. No, much as I’d like to think he will no longer be impacting the American/World scene, I’m pretty sure we haven’t seen the last of GB.

I envision him working closely (on who knows what) with a former half term governor in the near future.
