Ah the fickleness of the American public. Just two months after voters swept tea party candidates into Congress, Americans now disapprove of “the political movement known as the Tea Party” by a 52% to 35% margin. That’s their worst ever unfavorable ratings, up from 45% disapproval ratings last September, before the elections, and even more from last March, when more people approved of the Tea Party than disapproved.
The same poll found that Obama’s approval rating increased by 5%, to 54% (with 43% disapproving of his performance).

Pardon the vulgarity, but I’m going to quote the metal band Slipknot: “People = shit”.
I caught the last 15 minutes of “On Point” this morning when they were talking about the recent arrests of mobsters. Many of the people who called in during that time complained that the government was wasting its resources going after 80-something year old mobsters when it should be going after the people who created the economic mess we are all living with.
The person on the panel who was supportive of the arrests responded that, while there were increasing expectations about what the FBI should be doing, the resources to do that work has declined, especially in relation to corporate crime.
What was both amusing and frustrating was that the caller’s complaints about the waste of government resources was made at the same time the caller complained about government power. It wasn’t just one person, it was at least three comments.
