Whoa there!
I thought Nancy Pelosi unemployment spawns good thing…
Nancy Pelosi says: It injects demand into the economy,” Pelosi said, arguing that when families have money to spend it keeps the economy churning. “It creates jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name…
I doubt spending from unemployment benefits creates jobs faster than anything else but giving people money to spend when they otherwise would be making and spending next to nothing seems to make sense. Instead of people being unemployed and destitute they are instead able to spend some money which keeps them fed and does put money into local businesses.
Of course if people had jobs they would probably be making and spending more, that’s such an obvious statemet that it borders on asinine. Unfortunately the unemployment benefits are needed because there is little to no growth in jobs. It’s not as if the unemployment benefits are creating a labor shortage by replacing jobs, which the Fox article seems to imply.
