Ah, the irony of not wanting to pay taxes, while still receiving the benefits of government.

The funniest part of this comic is that the creator doesn’t know that income tax doesn’t pay for any of the services in the picture.
Huh? Who said anything about income taxes? They are against ALL taxes, and the real irony is that they don’t see any of the irony in this.
Yeah Jack, nobody said anything about *income* taxes (except you).
The funniest, most ironic part of this is that the people that held the signs in this comic are the sons/daughters, grandsons/daughters of the men and women who lived through a national depression and fought a World War. Those men and women helped create a thriving middle class along with progressive taxation and social programs that allowed most American families (the people carrying the signs) to enjoy a good education and have good jobs. Now that they’ve gotten their money I guess they want to keep it all to themselves.
It’s really too bad that the 18% of our people who identify with the Tea Party couldn’t somehow be transported into a society that has completely pure and unregulated capitalism, completely free and unregulated trade and no taxes. Let’s see if they would really like that (hell, Palin could even be president there).
No one likes taxes, we all understand. What we also all understand is what they do for us and our communities. I am in agreement, with almost everyone, government should not spend irresponsibly. But being against all taxes, taxes which help so many people, shows that the Tea Party doesn’t really know what they are talking about.
Taxes are the “capitalist’s” way to contribute to society. If it were (true) socialism there would be no taxes and people would be required to commit their time/labor.
Does this mean that Tea Party followers are socialists at heart?
about half of the tea partiers don’t even pay any federal income tax at all.
federal tax levels are at their lowest point many many years…
wasteful spending is down.
Obama is set to cut the deficit that Bush ran up by half within 4 years.
what are these people really mad about?
The irony is how liberals trashed the Mall with Obama was inaugurated, but the Tea Party policed it for trash following their protest.

Perhaps you attended one and assumed the other would be just as irresponsible with their garbage.
Perhaps the irony is that liberals think all people protest Obama are equal and are tea partiers?
This is a political cartoon, not a literal recording of events.
Someone should draw them a picture…. oh wait, that didn’t work, did it?
Duane has a valid point, but the original irony was that the tea partiers were protesting taxes, but costing the taxpayers money with their demonstrations. People attending the Obama inauguration were not protesting taxes.
