I love political comics that are subtle enough that you might not be able to figure out which side of an issue they are on. In fact, without the very last line (“Next Week”) I’m not sure if I could have figured this one out. It is getting to the point where reality is so bizarre that it is hard to make fun of it.

I generally prefer this approach. It’s the same thing that makes Colbert successful. A right-winger goes on to his show and dives right in because of Colbert’s commitment to the character he plays. He makes bigots comfortable. It’s the first step in showing them for the assholes they are. Generally, if a piece is funny (writing, cartoon, theater, whatever), the chances are it’s by a smart person grappling with an actual moral issue. That eliminates almost everyone on the right. At least in this age.
Seriously?
Honestly, I don’t know myself.
