This reminded me of a local story from about a year ago, when several new residents of a rural community complained because the roosters crowing were waking them up in the morning. They wanted the farm to be forced to get rid of its noisy animals. Of course, the farm with the roosters had been there for years, but the new residents hadn’t realized that when they bought their new MacMansions in the country.

We currently have bears for about five years. No complaints. This fall one ambled into a corn field that a farmer was combining. Have lived here for a number of years, the bear had no fear. The farmer murdered the bear. “Well, he might have been the one who sat in someone’s hay field.”
Two years ago, a bear killed one of my ancient sheep so I lock the remaining two up at night. The foxes got my chickens so I keep the remaining three in. “All creatures great and small” I am ever so grateful that I live in such wilderness.
Happens all the time. When I lived in L.A. I never could understand people choosing to live up against the mountains and still complaining about mountain lions eating their toy poodles.
