Talking Points Memo has announced the winners of their Third Annual Golden Duke Awards! These are the awards — named after Duke Cunningham — for corruption, public stupidity, hypocrisy, and just plain malevolent governance.
And the winners are:

- For Best Public-Policy Based Fib — Sarah Palin and the Death Panels
- For Outstanding Achievement in Corruption-based Chutzpah: Joe Arpaio
- For Best Scandal — Sex and Generalized Carnality: John Ensign (an upset)
- For Best Scandal — Local Venue: Judges Mark Ciavarella & Michael Conahan
- For Best Scandal — General Interest: Mark Sanford
