Robin Williams can be humorous, but his rant about GWB was way overblown for a foreign venue. I certainly don’t have a problem with people criticizing anyone in the U.S. government in this country, but when you leave the country, you should leave the politics there.

Way up in the reviews Jack says “Can you imagine a woman as vice-president?” I am a man, but how can he be so sexist? I recently saw Williams perform in Canada. Although he was funny, I was appalled by his use of profanity and wondered why he needed gutter talk. Was he “over the hill”? This episode shows he is still a good comedian without resorting to profanity.
I’m not an American but I think Republicans don’t have a sense of humour. I think it is impossible for republicans to have a sense of humour because humour mostly works on targeting the foibles of the rich, powerful, elite, the arrogant and self righteous, and cutting them down to size. The score having to be a perfect 100 percent and with no less than two hundred and fifty questions from the documents.
The questions coming from, in the form of a lottery machine administered by a top, trusted, security cleared Officer of a Military General class.
This may be debated on who is to administer the test.
TRUST is the basis.
The license fee shall be based on fifty percent of the political offices first years annual salary. Payable for each time the prospect runs for any and each office, win or lose.
To have legions of corrupt criminals continually being thrown at the people is absolutely unacceptable and WILL STOP.
This is a rough proposal being put before the public for approval.
Beware that it is not squashed by the evil forces that are bring ruin and bankruptcy on our nation.

One thing I find ironic about some of the comments on this post is the number of people who say, as if it were an indisputable fact, that Robin Williams is not funny (or at least that this performance of his is not funny). Then, if you disagree with them, they say that they are entitled to their own opinion.
First of all, if you are trying to express your opinion, then you should say “I don’t find this funny” (not “it is not funny”). As they say, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but not to their own facts.
Second, this video has been viewed over 2 million times, mostly because people who saw it thought it was funny enough to forward it on to their friends. If you are reading this, you likely received such an email. That’s an awful lot of people who thought this was funny. So statistically, I think it is entirely reasonable to say that this *is* funny, or at the very least that most people find it funny. Is there a better way to decide if something is funny?

This was funny. Robin Williams usually is. But I just don’t see all the hate comments against the Republicans. We are Americans just like you Democrats. We just believe in a few different things. I love my country and am a hard working guy with a family & do not like the government medaling in my family affairs. I am not really a Robin William’s fan, but found parts of this to be funny. I don’t understand the “He shouldn’t talk about our country like that” comments. Didn’t people fight and die for our freedoms? Last I heard, one of those freedoms is freedom of speech, or are we becomming a communist country? I always find it humorous when people say that we shouldn’t speak our minds because people have fought and died so that we could speak our minds.

Political, cultural, and religious beliefs are very sensitive subjects. It seems to me that it is acceptable for comedians to make fun of these topics, but if they don’t spread the jokes equally, people will get offended.
I thought it was a hilarious act, but I can see how other people got upset over Robin’s hatred of G W Bush getting in the way of his comedy.

Firstly, I thought that the monologue sounded like he had a great deal more material, but had to edit it for time – it wasn’t as smoothly flowing as his much earlier stream-of-whacked-out-conscious material.
Secondly, people who want “vengeance” on him for “pickling on our country” are the real “traitors” here: to one of the ideals on which this country was founded – that of free speech.
Thirdly, I cannot believe how many people missed the point of the Obama material. It was not only not racist, it was *anti* racist. The reason it was funny was because none of those stupid stereotypes fit Obama – THAT WAS THE POINT! As a whole this clip was mildly amusing. Reminded me somewhat of SNL clips making fun of Robin Williams. However, the portion on Obama I found insulting, degrading, and quite frankly racist. It is one thing to use hot topic issues in comedy as a way to force people to think about said issues, but this was not even funny. It was old, tired, and ineffective. The rest of the clip had me laughing. That beginning portion was just painful.

So I guess that Obama’s qualifications are that:
1) He’s not George Bush
and
2) He’s black.
I would think that should qualify about 10% of the population.
