On Friday there was an Indigenous Peoples March at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. A group of teenagers surrounded a Native American elder. What happened was captured on video, and you can see one teen blocking the man’s path, and other teens laughing, jumping around, and mocking the marchers.
But here’s the really ironic part. The teens were wearing red Make America Great Again hats, and were saying “Build the wall”.
Do any of those young idiots understand that a wall would be completely useless to keep out Native Americans? Maybe not, because they don’t seem to understand that a wall would not keep out actual illegal immigrants either.
Welcome to the Idiocracy.

On top of that, Trump today “bosted to reporters about how well San Antonio’s border wall is working.” Of course, San Antonio isn’t on the border, and has no wall.
President Camancho indeed.
I watched the video this morning. The MAGA boy has killed his chances at any real college. Only the Hypocritical Evangelist colleges would take him now. Or he could apply to some tech school like “Wharton School of Business”:
I stand proud that my daughter in law and their four children are part Seneca meaning their roots in this country may go back 19,000 years. Not 100 years like some bumpkin in the white House.
After Trump got elected, I played the Idiocracy CD for some friends who hadn’t seen it, I thought it would be funny. It wasn’t. My reaction then was that it was a lot less funny since it was recategorized from comedy to documentary.
I’m beginning to think there are no depths to the stupidity of some people. In this, the days of instant fame, or in this case infamy, it is hard to hide. In the good old days, you could be stupid on your own terms and without too many people knowing about it. Those kids, in one stupid action, have changed their lives forever. And where were the chaperones? The kid in the forefront more than the others is going to have a lot of problems going forward. As someone said on FB, he wins the award for the most punchable face. And I suspect someone is going to test that theory.
And if there ever was a reason for abortion, that boy exemplifies it.
Sorry, but I fell for that, too, and I think it’s a false narrative. Yes, the boys were being rowdy, but I looked for and found 2 hour footage of the event: https://youtu.be/UQyBHTTqb38
It looks like the Black Hebrew Israelites are the ones at fault here as they taunted the boys non-stop. The interaction with Nathan, the Native American elder, starts after the 1:10 marker. I clicked through and the Black Hebrew Israelites continue to taunt the boys for another hour. Apparently, the boys were waiting for their bus and did get somewhat rowdy. I did not hear them chant anything about a wall. I think that what made this go viral was the boy who stared at the elder with his weird smile which looked like a challenge.
In the early part of the footage, you can see a lot of Native Americans walking around with drums. So, I think the media was biased here and made a bigger deal about the boys than it was, although they should have just made way and let Nathan pass through. Footage with interviews with him say that he heard them chanting about the wall. Maybe he misunderstood, maybe he deliberately made something of nothing. I don’t know…
To Rachel:I’m grateful to hear the “other side” of the incident. Suddenly I realized that one does not wear MAGA hats to an antiabortion rally unless one is a White Nationalist. Someone has inculcated these boys to think they are better than the black boys and the Indigenous. I had the same brainwashing except mine was the opposite. Mine was “all mean are created equal” Just the whites wearing the hats would spur the black boys to anger.
I live in a pure white town of 5000, most Republicans and have never seen a MAGA hat.
Rachel, I watched the video. Rewatched the section at 1.10. I don’t see where this video has captured the interaction between the elder and the boys. There was no easy way to hear what the boys may or may not have been chanting because of the ranting of the filmer and his group. I did hear at least some of them yell “make America great again” and they obviously had chants/cheers that were a part of their sense of “schoolness,” if I can coin a word.
I admit that the following isn’t the full event, but it gives a pretty close look at much of the “confrontation” between the now infamous young man and the elder.

I heard no chanting of “build the wall.” I did hear and see the boys making various chants that were, it appeared to me, an attempt to keep time, in some way, with the elders’ drumming and singing and could easily be construed to be a mocking caricature. I make no suggestion, though, that they had any idea about what the elders were actually celebrating/doing.
A couple of other points on these two videos. 1: the boys weren’t waiting for a bus on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. At least, they wouldn’t have been picked up by buses where they were. Closest buses could come was about 250 feet away.
2: The elders approached the boys and, it would appear, that includes the young fellow standing face to face with Phillips. Why the boy did what he did? Seems a little weird. The video I posted shows him making no comments to Phillips. He eventually moves out of the way and Phillips takes a step up and further into the crowd of boys in another video – a video which shows one of the fellow with Phillips giving a couple of the boys a ration of shit for being white “newcomers” to North America (to paraphrase) in a yelling, aggressive manner.
Ah, MAGA marches…come for the pro-fetus, stay for the racism!
