It seems like Republican politicians care more about the Republican Party than about the Republic.

When I saw the title I was think that for Dems and Reps and all of congress for that matter.
While you could certainly make a case for that, I think recent actions (which a majority of the country opposes) have mainly come from the Republicans in Congress and from Donald Trump, including trying to repeal the ACA, threatening to destroy America’s insurance markets in order to kill Obamacare, attempting to throw millions off of Medicaid, wanting to kill Medicare, destroying net neutrality, allowing ISPs to sell your personal information without notifying you, stoking fear and hatred of immigrants, stoking fear and hatred of certain religions, firing the head of the FBI when he was investigating possible treason, attacking the media and calling them the “enemy of the American people”, attacking the judicial branch and declaring the “court system” a threat to national security, nepotism and conflicts of interest in the administration, attacked a private company when they dropped his daughter’s unpopular clothing line, attacked Saturday Night Live for their humorous impersonations of him and his staff, gag rule against even using the words “climate change”, lied about the size of his inauguration crowd, lied about being wiretapped by Obama, lied claiming that millions of undocumented immigrants voted against him and established an investigation into voter fraud and staffed it with people guilty of voter suppression. and on and on.
And the list goes on and on and on! Sadly this is juzt the tip of the iceberg.
These smartphone keys are”Just” too damn small.
I think it refers to the fact that there is significant evidence that Trump has ties to Russia and his campaign may have colluded with the Russians and the Republicans in Congress refuse to say boo. They defend him, will not call for him to release his taxes, say there is no need for further investigation, etc, because they are happy to be in power and they don’t care if they got there because of Russian interference in our elections because being in power, rather than governing, is all that matters to them.
The recent republican actions really reinforce how awful they’ve been for the last 30+ years. Where we are today is just the culmination of the path they set themselves on from Reagan forward. It also massively exposes the false equivalency of “both parties” do it. Seriously? Trumpcare vs Obamacare, Obama budget and tax plans vs donnie’s budget and tax plans, and things that have no analog like repubs gutting EPA, NASA, Dept. of Education, State, etc.
Dave maybe your hands are just too damned big. Unlike another person I can think of.
Sam the other day, someone was talking about how we no longer compromise. That made me think back to when the word compromise left my vocabulary. I think it was the time of Gingrich, Norquist and the “Contract With America”. I always thought of it as the “Contract ON America” and it hasn’t stopped and in many ways is worse.
Sam I agree totally. This didn’t just happen overnight. You’re right, it’s a culmination of the Republicans actively and overtly trying to destroy our Federal government for the last 30+ years….and it started with Reagan (“government is not the solution to our problems, government is the problem”). Isn’t it ironic that the GOP that used to see “commies” every where (including Reagan) are now in bed with them.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!
@Wildwood, @Jwhat: It just saddens me that their perverted fantasies require them to take the rest of us down with them.
