Oh how well I understand the frustration. I live an enclave of Republicland. One thing I have noticed during this election cycle, (being superstitious makes me think I should not mention this), there are virtually no yard signs and the few there are tout the state and local candidates. I think people around here are either afraid to put up Trump signs or embarrassed, (I would certainly hope this is the reason).
I tried to convince my husband that we should put up a Gary Johnson sign a couple of months ago, but he was not fond of the idea. We never have signs up so our neighbors do not realize who lives among them. I thought a Johnson sign might make them think of alternative choices.
I just talked to a Republican. Wanting to tell him that Trump was a Democrat his whole life would do no good. What I said was “I checked out Gary Johnson. His believes are the same as yours” (I’ve said this to him before.) “Who?” “Gary Johnson.” “Isn’t he an Independent?” I again said to him: “he is a Libertarian, believes in less government. Check him out on the Internet.” Fell on deaf ears.
