Slavery and the Civil War

civil-war-slavery

Those of us who have lived in the south have seen in person that some people there are still fighting the civil war. They think that losing the actual war was a temporary setback that they will someday overcome. It has almost turned into a religious war, which is why the KKK had such religious overtones. They are the chosen people who will take back America.

If only we could put the Mason Dixon line back in use. Move all the black people north, all the prejudiced against blacks below the line into the inferno, heat and otherwise. Low, low, taxes in the south as there are no services like like schools, medical, etc. All the prejudiced can find out what it is like living with no services. It can be a separate uneducated country just like Oklahoma.

EBDOUG, I worry that you’d be moving a lot more people south than you might think.

On a(hopefully) more humorous note, I’ve been thrilled with Game of Thrones giving the perfect retort to “The South Will Rise Again”… “The North Remembers.”

EBDOUG, it’s easier than that… All these folks need to do to find GOP policies taken to their logical conclusion is, to move to Sam Brownback’s Kansas.

Personally, I’ve found that there is quite a bit of racism in the north as well, if not just as much. It is just less out in the open.
