For the life of me, I keep changing my mind about who would be worse, Donald Trump or Ted Cruz. Most of the time, I think Cruz is worse, because he really believes the stupidity he spouts, and he knows he is right because, um, god talks to him.
Then Trump does something totally stupid. Like yesterday, when we discovered that one of his top foreign policy advisors is a nutcase who filed a lawsuit against some native Americans because he believed (without any evidence) that they were conspiring with Turkey to build nukes for the Muslims. No, I am not making this up.
So, maybe Trump is more dangerous, because I can’t believe anyone sane would vote for Cruz for president (other than evangelicals), whereas Trump might just be able to pull it off.
But then again, maybe Cruz is worse because he has lots of campaign money, and if Trump has to start paying for a real campaign himself he will probably lose interest quickly.
You get the picture. Which one do you think is worse?

I can’t decide. Part of me thinks Trump would just chase approval ratings, which could mellow out his primary campaign insanity but is obviously no way to run a government.
Cruz scares the hell out of me because, as you say, he thinks he talks with God, as opposed to just to God. He also seems more fervently conservative, which is always a red flag to me. Finally, I go the other way in who could actually pull off the election. With the establishment GOP starting/continuing to rally around Cruz (or perhaps gather, since rally sounds enthusiastic), I think he’s the one who might actually win.
Either way, go blue!
Cruz is worst. Trump may actually learn something on the fly. Cruz is more on the anointed path via his father. I most fear a shift toward theocracy. Want to really see a new civil war?
Guilty confession: part of me really wants to see a one-on-one debate between Trump and Clinton.
I’ve always thought Cruz was more dangerous. You know what you are getting with him and it’s scary as hell. Trump, you have no idea which way his wind will blow, but at least once in a while, it might blow the correct way. At least there’s a chance.

So what you people are saying is that Cruz is evil, but Trump is just stupid (or at least our of his depth). So it is like a choice between Nixon and Dubya?
My thinking is that, if the mainstream GOP (and by that I mean business owners, corporations, banks and millionaires other than the Koch brothers and maybe even them) truly wanted anyone but Hillary Clinton to be elected president and maintain some semblance of the status quo, then serious money would have been going to candidates who behave like grownups.
Since this is not and has not been happening, I’m thinking serious people in the GOP are fine with Clinton and will likely cross party lines themselves to be sure she is elected vs. Trump OR Cruz.
Cruz is worse IMO because I think he has a better chance at winning (the party will hold their noses while backing him, but they will back him) and he’s more often wrong.
Trump is far too dangerously erratic to be president, but at least erratic means he’ll be right SOME of the time, as opposed to Cruz.

If Cruz wins, it means the End Times are real and my butts going to Hell.
If Trump wins, it means that reality is just an illusion and that I’m still on a bum trip from the sixties. Sure it feels like hell but it ain’t real Hell.
