The Bible has over 300 verses where Jesus speaks about the poor and social justice. Here are just a few:
But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
You lack one thing: go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.
Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.
It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.
