It is amazing of how ingrained money is in our political system. The next time you hear someone in the news say that so-and-so is not a serious political candidate, that is just a euphemism for saying they haven’t been able to raise much money. It is sick and disgusting.
We all know that what Stahl is saying is true, but we aren’t allowed to talk about it. Our politicians have become nothing more than whores.

Have politicians ever been anything more than whores? Or is it that they haven’t changed, we just have more insight into their practices?
This has always been. My step father was at a country club where he over heard Walker Bush say, “my son is going to be president” speaking of HW Bush. Rigged.
At the beginning of the 1800s, John McKinley was appointed to the Supreme Court in Washington against his wishes and was described as the worst Supreme court justice ever. He did absolutely nothing. One of my many great grandparents.
But then there are the Cory Bookers of this world. His charisma and brains will overcome all the Karl Roves and Koch Brothers.

the song was “Running on Empty” by Jackson Browne, which is exactly to the point. Back before the direct elections of Senators, many were labeled as the Senator from Standard Oil, etc. Now we have people like the Koch bros calling the shots through surrogate orgs like the TEA Party. Back then we had popular amendments to try and change things. Now they have the appearance of a popular movement, they are out of sight, out of mind. If you’re not paying attention (or watching Fox News) you may never know who is really calling the shots. Move to Ammend!!!
