Gov. Rick Scott has declared a state of emergency for Florida, although some might wonder whether it is because of the approaching hurricane, or because of the impending inundation of Republicans arriving for the convention.
Isaac has already caused three deaths in Haiti. I hope everyone stays safe.
UPDATE: The Republicans have delayed the start of their convention until (at least) Tuesday because of Isaac.

I’ve just realized, I’m feeling cheated. Where is that classic right-wing catch phrase, “No one could possibly have foreseen this”?
Or maybe it’s just too early — we won’t hear it til we’re watching footage of conventioneers stranded by flooding, perhaps also without power… because in their reality, where science, logic, history, and fact are all prohibited, no one could foresee a hurricane in coastal Florida at the tail end of August.
Isaac and the Republicans. Band name?
Now that Isaac has turned away from Tampa and is now bearing down on New Orleans, should it be Isaac and the Two Timers?
I don’t know what is worse for the Republicans — having a big storm heading for their convention, or heading straight toward one of their last president’s biggest failures.
