House Majority Leader Eric Cantor expresses his concern about the Occupy Wall Street “mobs”.
Unfortunately, in the wake of Citizen’s United, the free speech of ordinary citizens (even expressed as protests) is dwarfed by the “free speech” of unlimited corporate cash. Not only that, but since it is corporate cash (in the form of advertising) that feeds the mainstream media, you can guess where their sympathies will lie. Maybe if the protestors could get jobs they would have enough cash to buy some of that free speech.

Once again I ask myself, who is voting for these clowns?!
I saw a sign that said:
“I Can’t Afford My Own Politician, So I Made This Sign !”
It has been a long hard day fighting with the forces of ignorance. Please pardon the length of this post; I just have to get it off my chest.
This is a message to Tea Party conservatives. You have always, and still, represent a minority in America. You all made the mistake of believing that the 2010 results were a ground swell of support for your idiotology.
It wasn’t.
…
The Democrats nearly made you all irrelevant in 2006 and 2008 for one reason – people were angry at the current plutocracy and government screwing over the people. And they elected Republicans in 2010 only because they were STILL angry, the status quo hadn’t changed and they gave you a chance to fix it. They didn’t agree with your idiotology – they just wanted something different than what they had.
You blew it.
Instead of addressing the reasons for the anger, you decided to try and force your idiotology down everyone’s throat, resulting in the most ineffective Congress in modern history, failure to address any of the core issues, and making it clear that you all are there to defend the 1% and your power at the expense of the people while advancing your narrow social agenda.
And now the SAME ANGER is coalescing behind Occupy Wall Street – the 99% Movement.
Believe whatever polls you like. Talk to yourself in the mirror and tell yourself how great it is to be a conservative. But the elections are more than a year away, and a lot can happen in a year. Reagan and Clinton were also violently disliked at this time before their re-election. And as the 99% movement continues to grow, you might be surprised to find out the Silent Majority has finally woken up, and it might just make you all irrelevant again.
See you in November 2012.
