I couldn’t agree with Van Jones more. The problem is not our theory of the president, the problem is our theory of the presidency. The question is not what Obama is going to do about our country, but what WE are going to do about our country.

I agree as far as it goes. The catch is what BETTER choices are we being offered?
This is a democracy. A vote NOT cast for one candidate is almost as good as a vote case for another.
Progressive-leaning people get swamped by their opponents time after time because they demand ideological perfection.
Personally, I’m supporting Obama. I’m sending money. I’m hasseling my friends and relatives and I’m going to vote for anything that ISN’T a party that sees Mitt as a “reasonable” compromise given the asinine performances of Michelle Bachmann and Rick Perry. Count on it folks. George W. Bush II we don’t need!
What better choice? Really? We would be better off going back to the bank regulations and upper bracket tax rates in place during the 1950’s.
We need regulations defined by Congress, not regulators, no more financial “innovation,” no more super computer trading, no more “too big to exist.” Throw in Medicare for all (don’t worry, there are enough holes in coverage to keep insurance companies alive) and direct loans from Fannie and Freddie, and for good measure, an Amendment declaring corporations are not people, money is not free speech and public funding of politics. We also need to bring back free editorial rebuttal.
