Stephen Colbert sums up the state of the Jan 6 hearings, hilariously. And yet scary as hell.
Colbert makes this funny, yet heed the warning from Charlie Sykes in The Bulwark:
On Thursday we got a stark reminder that farcical fascism is still fascism.
Yes, Jeffrey Clark was a clownish Iago; the theories about Italian satellites were certifiably insane; Trump’s election lies were absurd and easily debunked; and the smoking guns are right there in plain sight.
But even so, it was a damned close run thing.
The President of the United States was moments away from installing a seditionist crony as the nation’s top law enforcement officer and using the Department of Justice to execute his coup.
The line held. Thank God.
But that line was thin, and it might not be there the next time around.

I think all these conspiracy theories the GOPers invest in are farcical at best, but yet 30% of the electorate buy it.
I just added the quote from Charlie Sykes, who definitely agrees with you, Ray.
And this is why Clark, Eastman, the not the so honorable Ron Johnson along with the other seditious cast and the Ringleader need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. What is Garland doing?
Tom the Dancing Bug 6/24/22 is right on.
Lewtoo – A grand jury in Washington, DC, has been calling on folks to come and have a conversation under oath for several months. Apparently, Garland’s DOJ is better at keeping things under their hats than the previous administration did. Maybe you missed the raid on Eastman’s home Monday night?
