This is really the season of the lights due to the shortest days of the year. I imagine bon fires did it before electricity to combat SAD.
The Jewish Religion celebrated at this time of year for 5000 years before Jesus was born.
I’m not Jewish or Christian but the argument comes along side of bathroom arguments.
