Some quotes from Helen Philpot (of Margaret and Helen):
It’s just so odd that all this hatred and discrimination seems to be emanating from a bunch of Republicans who claim to represent Jesus. Now there is a conundrum. As a Christian politician do you abide by the law of the land and treat others with love and respect or do you follow the teachings of Jesus and treat others with love and respect? Such a dilemma.
If a government is able to show more compassion than your church, maybe you should join another church.
The way I see it, you can use your bible to justify hatred, and you can use the First Amendment to justify your right to express your hatred. Or you could pull your head out of your ass and realize that you pick and choose which bible verse to quote with as much ignorance as you pick and choose which Republican Presidential Candidate to nominate.

Facebook blocks links the blog by Margaret and Helen !!
Facebook won’t let me post a link to a blog written by two old grandmothers. Apparently it is been flagged as offensive by some religious nutter who is offended by the writings of these sweet old ladies.
Try to post a link on your page. If you get a message from facebook blocking it fill out the form asking for review of the block – and a review and ban of the people who asked for the block.
We cannot let religious bullies start blocking our right to link post links on our pages to completely unoffensive content, just because it points out the hypocrisy of the right wing or religious bigots.
So please go to FB and try posting a link to http://margaretandhelen.com/ and if you get a block message PLEASE fill out the form asking for review and unblock.
AND while you are at it, ask that who ever asked to block Margaret and Helen be kicked off FB.
A simple step to keep political debate free and open.
I just posted that exact link to my (personal) facebook page and had no problems (at least not yet). Maybe they fixed it. Or maybe it only blocks it sometimes.
Of course, I think it is a great idea for people to post links to Margaret and Helen. So please, try it yourself.
I love those old girls, have seen their blog before. Brighter and more progressive than most others 1/3 their age!
Guess I can add this to the growing list of reasons I don’t FB. Besides the timesuck – already spend too much on Linkedin and the Twitterverse, besides here đŸ˜‰ – the obvious manipulations of their user base is annoying, if not disturbing (the confusing privacy policies, the tailored news feeds, the commercialism), just seems more trouble than it’s worth, IMO. Seems you’re not the customer there, you’re the product. Please give me a counter-reason (beyond being a business or advocacy group)!
The Republican hen has finally come home to roost. The Southern Strategy that worked so well for Nixon, and was strategically adopted in all its nuanced and vile forms by the GOP ever since, has painted them into a corner from which they now struggle to wriggle out of. Trump has done them a service, ironically, with his bombastic and tone-deaf rhetoric (the mark of a political amateur. You’re FIRED!). As the demographic changes, so must they to stay relevant, which in today’s “democracy” means staying in the money. Maybe we should start calling them The Chameleon Party.
Well I’m probably almost as old as them and have enjoyed what they have to say for some time. It’s refreshing to know that not all of us older Americans are consumed by a belief in the “Fox” view of the world.
Well I just tried to post to FB and it did not work. Off now to complain.
James I tried to find what you are talking about but couldn’t. Can you give me specifics as to how to complain about the blog being blocked? And pretend you are talking to a 3 year old when you do. I am very, extremely, fantastically, computer challenged.
