Why ask a question if you don’t care about the answer?

On March 24, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), he who shut down the government in a failed attempt to repeal Obamacare, went to Facebook and posted the following:

Quick poll: Obamacare was signed into law four years ago yesterday. Are you better off now than you were then?
Comment with YES or NO!

Did he really expect that Facebook would reply with anything less than a tsunami of YES votes?

The question becomes, will Ted Cruz change his mind about Obamacare now? I’m not holding my breath (despite the fact that I now have better, cheaper health insurance under the ACA).

Question? As I understand it, the ACA was based on “RomneyCare” in Massachusetts which was based on the Heritage Foundation in DC. Hillary Clinton shot down the Republican plan twenty years ago. Obama adopted it as better than nothing. How do the Republicans get around this if Hillary runs and is nominated?

I showed up just to comment on the unfortunate effect on right-wing extremists of living in the bubble the RWNM has created — they genuinely don’t understand that they are a minority viewpoint.

But I am mystified by EBDoug’s comment. Hillary as the great opponent of “Obamacare”? I was paying attention when Hillary did her attempt at health care reform, back in the day, and it was very similar to this — I remember thinking at the time, “But this doesn’t benefit anyone but the insurance companies!”

She also ran on it in the 2008 Dem primary, right down to the Individual Mandate, which at the time, Obama was still opposing.

That said, what does EBD’s final statement even mean? Sorry — I really am perplexed by it.

They mean do they blast her for torpedoeing a now-popular system or do they blast her for being part of the party that passed it. At least I think.

From where I sit, the ACA is great. I’m young enough to be covered by my parent’s plan for another year or so, and with my first few years of post-college pay checks, I have more disposable income to pump into my local bars… I mean economy. Local economy.

Excuse me, but where did I say that Hillary was an opponent of Obama care? I said she was an opponent of the Heritage Foundation plan in 1993 (how old was Obama then?)The Heritage Foundation plan was adopted by Romney Governor of Massachusetts. Obama based his plan on the Massachusetts plan, how ever imperfect it is a start. What I said was “How are the Republicans going to get around bashing Hillary Clinton who did not adopt the Republican plan that morphed into ACA adopted by Obama? They would be bashing themselves.
