At least bipartisanship humor isn’t dead. New Jersey Gov Chris Christie (R) and Newark Mayor Cory Booker (D) did a very funny video for last night’s state Press Association Legislative Correspondents Club dinner.

Fantastic. We need MORE of this.
Love the guy they got to play Christie, he is even fatter than the real one!!!
If only the kids would really play that nice together
IL-08 what are you talking about? Thats the kind of snide comments we expect from the peanut gallery on the left, nothing of substance. A big guy can’t have a brain, be funny or have a point, unless I guess he’s Michael Moore then it’s OK huh.
I thought the skit was wonderful, people from different walks of life and beliefs can get along, yes even enjoy each others company and have a light hearted moment. Awesome.
“Thats the kind of snide comments we expect from the peanut gallery on the left”
And on the right.
I stand corrected, thanks Richard, good call.
You guys are almost as entertaining as the video! 🙂
Geesk Patriotsgt, you yell at me for calling a fat guy fat, and then you call a fat guy fat (MM), now THAT’s ironic.
IL-08 – apologies if you though I was “yelling” at you, I wasn’t. I haven’t quite figured out how to yell with a keyboard and CAPS just doesn’t seem to do me justice. Yelling is an art form with us old SGTs and trying to pre-plan or script it just turns it into a mess. We’re more the spontaneous folk when it comes to butt chewings.
What I was pointing out was there was a whole lot to comment on concerning the video and all you came up with was Christie is fat. Like if I watched a video with Obama in it and said, “Oh look the guy they got to play Obama is even blacker then him”. When in fact it was Obama. I’d be looked at as, well, you know what.
And on the Irony — we are reading on THE site for irony are we not. 🙂
No worries, but I just made a fat joke….
What I didn’t do was make a comment about left verses right
What I didn’t do was insinuate that fat people weren’t smart.
What I didn’t do is say that fat people weren’t funny.
What I didn’t say is that fat people can’t have a point.
What I didn’t do was compare Chris Crisco and Michael Moore (and more and more)
You did those things and attributed them to me.
I just made a fat joke.
The video was funny, but to be honest, I am not excited by it. There are many examples of our elected officials performing comedy together with other officials of opposing views. What I am desperate to see and destined to be disappointed is these same elected officials, both right and left, working together to come up with real legislative solutions to solve any of the problems of our times. It’s just easier to be funny together, and perhaps that’s the greatest irony of all.
actually IL-08 Christie and Booker have worked together on quite a few NJ issues. It seems to be one of the few (if not only) examples of the true spirit of working together to solve problems regardless of political party.
for the record I never said MM was fat.
I did use the term “big guy”.
That was very big of you two. 🙂
IK, stop getting me in trouble! 🙂
