High? No, I’d say he’s more of a downer.
One of those strings recently had to mended, when Cain came out and said that abortion was a personal choice. I must say that when I heard that, I was struck with a sudden desire to shake Cain’s hand and say thank you.
That feeling lasted about six hours, which is how long it took for Cain to clarify his statement and make it mean the exact opposite. He said, and I’m paraphrasing, that what he meant was that abortion should be illegal as everyone knows, but that if a person chooses to get an abortion anyway, then that’s their choice. In other words, Cain had to double down on the crazy to make up for his “slip of the rhetoric.”
Now, Cain is saying that he, as President, would sign a constitutional amendment to ban abortion, even though the POTUS does not sign constitutional amendments.
I really wish Cain had stuck with his original thought, but he’s too much of a finger puppet for the Cons.
