With all the attacks on entitlements, we should also go after how Wall Street feels they are entitled to massive bailouts along with obscene profits and bonuses.

There was some very explicit (and widespread) fraud and other rules breaking for which those involved in the credit crisis need to face justice.
However, a propos the above cartoon: part of the problem is in ourselves. We want the cheap products, cheap cash, etc. The bankers are often just leveraging our own greed, like a drug pusher given a chance. We need to recognize this.
Simply jailing those involved with fraudulent mortgages won’t cure the deeper problems. It’s hard to legislate against greed.
??? there are 2 Dans???
Looks like an opportunity for more Wall Street “innovation” that no one understands but will cost us money and make them richer. Return to Glass–Steagall with updates and feed it steroids.
Oh no, stereo Dans!
I disagree with Dan from comment #1 — jailing those who break the law will help cure the deeper problems. Letting them get away with financial mayhem is part of what lets them think that it is acceptable behavior.
