I guess one way to prove that government can’t do anything right is to destroy the things it does well: Social Security, Medicare, the Post Office, etc. And make Congress even more dysfunctional at the same time.

The Tea Party isn’t out to destroy government; they’re out to destroy government as we know it and as it has been since America was born. They are basically arguing that the government should be an extension of the private sector, that it should undermine individual freedoms for the “greater good” of corporate profit and a flourishing wealthy class. Government being forced into stagnation and ineffectiveness are not only a goal but also further evidence of their crazy views. It’s a self-serving action and self-fulfilling prophecy.

The post office has been in trouble for a long long time
