Assuming the kid on the bike represents the tea party house reps, then there should be two more figures in front of the kid, a clueless voter pulling the kid and fox news pulling the voter.
Throw in Freedomworks, Dick Armey and the Koch brothers and the picture is complete. But, really, doesn’t the TEA Party represent them all?
Jonah – excellent point on the voters. I would add that most cable news seems to be as vacuous as Fox news is full of BS. CNN, et al may not lie in the way or to the extent of Fox News, but seemingly 24-7 coverage of a trial of some woman in FL who apparently killed her daughter does not exactly facilitate informed civic engagement.
Well and elegantly put, Starluna!
Sadly, Comedy Central is the best News on Cable, so long as you “get” the joke.
Ha! I have a friend in the Netherlands who was just explaining this to me a few days ago. This pretty much sums up exactly what her country thinks of us. So sad.
An invisible hand should be leading the tea party.
