The headlines are: “McConnell Does About-Face on Earmarks” (from the conservative NRO), “McConnell Caves on Earmarks” (moderate Washington Monthly), and “McConnell blinks on earmarks” (liberal Daily Kos). At least we can all agree on something!

It could be late onset schizophrenia. I know it’s rare, but it does happen. Or perhaps multiple personality disorder. Oh wait it could be alzheimers and he just forgot like McCain on DADT.
I dont get this at all. Democrats try to convince republicans their ideas are good, and Republicans try to convince democrats that their ideas are good, its pretty basic. He just was convinced by a strong arguement?
Democrats weren’t involved at all, it was purely an internal Republican thing.
What’s really ironic is that McConnell stated that he still believed that an earmark ban was stupid and a waste of time, but he changed his mind about supporting them because “the people wanted an earmark ban”.
Remember McConnell is the one who said Democrats opposed a surge in Iraq. Then asked Bush to hold the surge until after the election so the Repugs could get elected. No hypocrisy there. Wonder if he ever sleeps or he just has no conscious.
