Vietnam War, John McCain. DADT. All you said to say when drafted was “I’m bisexual so you can’t draft me.” No running to Canada. This is so totally absurd. Reinstate the draft, see how fast this DADT is repealed. Total hypocrisy.

I think we shold allow Sec Gates to analyze the data collected from the troops and bring his recommendation to congress in Dec. This is what congress and the DOD agrees to last spring, so lets allow the process to play out.
Personnaly, speaking as a Soldier near retirement age there are 2 generations in the military. The older has some reservations, but sees no difference in the performance of gay vs straight Soldiers. The younger has less or no reservations and sees no difference. Military disclipline and the UCMJ will keep Soldiers, Airmen, Navy and Marines in line. Let the voices of those serving be heard before congress decides. They will probably be for ending DADT anyway and congress can pass it with a clear mind.
