As long as we are going to have down-in-the-mud politics, at least it should be funny!

While i dont support him, i respect rand paul. find me one other GOP’r running this year who says ‘keep government out’ and actually extends the sentence farther than ‘…of corporate profits.’ its a bizarre stance, but at least he believes that his libertarian ideology should extend further than sound bites that gel well with public opinion polls.
Could someone explain this one please? It’s flying over my head…
@Steve: look at the handicap sign on the side.
Steve, Rand Paul is a libertarian with a capital L. He believes that restaurants should be free to discriminate against anyone (e.g., they should not be required by law to serve blacks, if they don’t want to). He would also repeal the laws that provide parking spaces to the disabled.
While I can appreciate libertarian ideology (and have some libertarian leanings myself), I am personally against ideologues, which unfortunately includes Paul. It is incredibly simplistic to think that a single, compact ideology can apply to all aspects of life, without exception. Some people use ideology so they don’t have to think.
And the “waffle house” theme is because he has been backing off of his earlier libertarian statements, in order to make himself more electable. Unfortunately, his “change of heart” seems to be working.
