When, exactly, did anyone on either side of the aisle suggest that BP should not be liable for the damage they’ve done? Federal law already requires them to make reparations.
I know you think this is just a snide little comment to make about Republicans, but actually, oil companies contributed millions to Obama’s campaign. Not only that, but a large part of the danger associated with offshore oil rigs is that they have to drill so deep. Why? Because they’re prohibited from drilling in shallow waters. Thanks to Democrat-sponsored regulations. Great analysis there, Steve, you’re clearly a political genius.
