For months all I heard was how the Republicans were being shut out from the process, which was a dubious claim at best. Then when they were openly invited to the summit, I think the phrase, “It’s a trap” was used 3,942 times in two days. (And that’s just the Fox News commentators.)
This party will never win over moderate independents like me, even if I agree with them on many fiscal principles.
