The US wanted to stop the Soviets from getting too much influence in the region. But that doesn’t answer the question as to why it lasts.

I HATE that we are constantly worshiping Israel as if they can do no wrong, and they are constantly causing instability and violence in the area, partially because they know they’re unquestioningly backed by the U.S. It’s ridiculous.

I have an honest question that I’m hoping someone can answer for me: why is US policy with Israel so murky? We are allied with them, give them all kinds of support, and ignore their violation of treaties and territory agreements with the Palestinians. We ignore their discrimination of the people of Palestine, and anybody who questions all of this gets attacked left and right. What’s the secret to this alliance?
