Perfect.
Last night I was at a meeting with a woman who attended the Celebrate the Dream activities. I learned that, contrary to media presentations, the “counter-rally” is an annual event in D.C. that had been in the works since long before Beck decided to have his rally. The organizers of the annual event hold different activities each year, organized by a different civil rights organization.
Did anyone see this presented anywhere?
Starluna – I heard Al Sharpton on C-SPAN WashJourn Sat morning say that the “counter rally” was an annual event that had been planned and scheduled before anyone knew of the Beck event. So…..which one was the REAL “counter-rally”??
Looking at the above there seems to be a consistent theme in Beck’s stellar career – juvenile stupidity.
C-Span also does some great news coverage. It’s too bad that it isn’t more widely viewed.
And, I was wrong. It isn’t Celebrate the Dream that organizes the annual event. It is Reclaim the Dream.
What a perfect antidote to these “clowns!”

I had saw someone post the Beck/MLK comparison list on Palingates and found it to be amazing!
Gimme a break – this just calls MORE attention to He Who Shall Not Be Named In This Screed and further defile King’s legacy and dream, IMHO. A career timeline comparison of the two men? Seriously? In what universe is such a comparison relevant or apt or justifiable or worth anyone’s time, energy or emotional or mental capacities, including your own?! We are all (those of us sincerely devoted to living the legacy of Dr. King) far, far above such petty nonsense. Aren’t we?
