Has anyone seen the Dixie Chicks documentary? It’s the one they made after one of them said “we don’t want this war, this violence, and we’re ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas”, the backlash that ensued was pretty frightening, with death threats and people saying on National TV that they should be slapped!

However it seems to be completely acceptable for Republican supporters to brandish Nazi Obama placards. I mean wtf!? Have these people no sense of irony/decency/common sense…?

Sometimes I’m really glad I live in the Highlands of Scotland and the worse I have to contend with is someone complaining that I shouldn’t use Gaelic as it breaches their human rights because they can’t understand me. (Seriously!) 🙂

  2. Toby, do you have a link?

    (Also, Highlands? Really? Cool!)

We’re always trying to convince the stupid people. It wasn’t always this way, but that’s the way it is now… And the Republicans do a better job of it, plain and simple. It gives the rest of us solace to see (and maybe even snicker at) the irony of it all.

(And yep, I really live in the Highlands, I’ve got a view down the Great Glen from my office, it’s not a bad life!)

  5. Toby. Thanks. I’ve heard about what happened, but didn’t have film of it.

Oh, and you have my full attention re:highlands. I *may* be part Scottish, and I have been to Scotland for the grand total of an afternoon. So want to go back.

IronKnee. By the way, some friendships may form because of your site, but there’s no place for us to just chat. I’ld love to have time to just talk with Starluna, for instance. Ever thinking of adding forums to this site? Please?
