At last, the media is finally poking fun at our president in a way I can really appreciate! Over at McSweeney’s, read “My Pitches for Political-Satire Skits Playing on President Obama’s Foibles” Someone finally had the guts to take off the kid gloves and end this insipid love affair the media has with Obama.

But seriously, if we don’t treat someone in a position of authority with intellectual rigor, we insult that person’s intelligence and the value of their authority. In other words, tough questions honestly asked are a sign of sincere respect. (“Gotcha” questions, of course, are not, but that’s not honestly asked–those are a set up.)
